History
Legend has it that the ancestors of the Truku tribe in prehistoric times took rowcing (driftwood, meaning boats) from the South China Sea and landed along the southwest coast of Taiwan. After landing, they scattered on the plains from Taichung to Tainan. The Pingpu ethnic group in Shangzhi was disagreeable and outnumbered. He was driven out and killed. As a result, he was forced to move to the high mountains in central Taiwan, first to a place called Ayran in the west of Puli, and then gradually to the mountainous area to the east. After centuries Moved to 17 places, and finally moved to the present Hezuo Village of Ren'ai Township, Nantou County. The people call this place Truku Truwan.

The season of the ancestral spirit ceremony is after the millet is harvested, and the time is decided after discussion by the leader or elder. The ancestral spirits are sacrificed with wine, millet cakes, crops, fruits, fish, etc. The sacrifices are tied to bamboo during the sacrifice, and the elders call the ancestral spirits to come and enjoy; the offerings are eaten together after the sacrifice. When leaving the sacrificial place, the uneaten offerings were not taken home, and they crossed the fire to indicate that they were separated from the ancestral spirit.
