History

The origin legend of the Amis is related to the flood, betel nut, and brother-sister marriage.

Their Harvest festival is very important, but this event had been ban during the Japanese colonial era.

The historical record of Amis contacts with outsiders can be traced back to relevant data from the Dutch gold mine investigation team four hundred years ago. However, the active and close interaction between the Amis and the outside world was in the last two decades of the Qing Dynasty's rule of Taiwan.
